Before ; December 2009
I had zits on my face. A lot of them, and it’s all over my face. It started when I’m doing my hospital training in the pharmacy of Seremban General Hospital. But before that, I was having a good time with futsal. When I was in futsal team, the practice is at night. So I don’t have problem with the sun. Lecture hall was only 2 minutes away from my hostel. Unfortunately, they scheduled our match in the middle of the day. So I got sunburn and few breakouts on my face right after the tournament ends. The problem with my skin is when it’s too much exposed to the sun. It’ll get dry, and promote uneven skin tone. And breakouts, too. I tried to put on sunblock but my face will easily get oily. Plus, I had some sort of hormonal imbalance for few months. It’s hard to maintain your skin condition when you have imbalance hormone in your body. I tried to drink a lot of water, but the zits keep on coming. People told me, maybe you should let your skin breathe and stop putting on make up. Apparently, when I stop using compact powder my face is more oily than before, and promote sebum production and therefore, again, I have zits on my face. I tried few products.
1. Garnier (For Acne Prone skin) – it made my skin to have more breakouts. But I love the fresh sensation after washing my face with it. It smells good too.
2. Cetrimide lotion 2% – *I got this from the pharmacy* (whispering) But apparently it’s not working. Haha! It made my skin dry after washing and produce oil 10 minutes after I wash my face. So what’s the point anyways? But it removes large pimples, but leaving tiny pimples la, which looks more like rashes and makes my face reddish.
3. Za Facial Wash – Very good in oil control but large pimples may come out once in a while. I tried it with the rose lotion for acne-prone skin, but it makes my skin oily. I hate oily face you know???!!
4. Neutrogena – I love Neutrogena! The smell is nice and it leaves soft finish on my skin. I feel like buying it again. I can’t remember the reason I switch to another product.
5. The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Range – Working in controlling acne, but not in making your skin crystal clear. Expensive investment too. Since Dr. Teejay says my skin is clear after using it, I continue jugak la for 3 months.
Hi. I am the walrus. *act like walrus by showing my vampy teeth*
Bawah lagi horror. Cameraman ni memang. Orang dah suruh off flash. Mineral make up memang tak boleh cover jerawat bila kena flashlight. Kantoi di situ.
6. The final answer for everything:
Benzac AC 5% + Oxy Facial Wash
The very cheap Fair & Lovely (walaupun pakai tak fair macam Juliana Evans)
St. Ives Apricot Scrub once weekly
Now; October 2010
Padan muka awak pic kena crop. Sapa suruh muka lagi fair & lovely?
And I’ve been practicing healthy diets, too:
1. Drink a lot of plain mineral water, & fresh fruit juices
2. Take more veges. Vegan yo!
3. Avoid oily food like fried chicken, fried banana, fried sotong, fried cucumber and etc.
4. Fish diet! Fish diet! Haha! Tak habis-habis.
5. Every iced drinks = less ice! Lemah tenaga batin you. (Err. Okay takde kaitan kot. Bye)
I used Benzac AC 5% (active ingredient is benzoyl peroxide 5%, if it’s a different brand pun it’s okay. Generic beb. ) only at night, and apply it on the skin until it is absorbed only to affected area. Okay dah macam pharmacist pulak cakap. Heh.
Like answering pharmaco exams too. Heh.
Moisturize your skin twice daily, morning and night, before you go to bed (kalau ambik wudhuk usually I didn’t use facial wash, just water will do).
And last but not least, scrub your face to remove dead skin cell once or twice a week. It helps in brighten your skin tone and remove dull skin complexion. And unclog pores on your skin too.
Some expensive products are not meant to be compatible with my skin. Which I am grateful much, I don’t have to invest much here. It tooks about 1-2 weeks to make the acne marks on my face disappear. Try scrubbing banana’s skin on the marks.
Weee~
Pimples will come and go, especially when we’re having our menstruation. So girls, watch your diet! Bye!
